Shaping Our Campus Exhibition: Past, Present and Future

Exhibition

Audience Suitable for all

For 200 years The University of Manchester has developed buildings and spaces to support world-class education and research – and this gripping exhibition by the Manchester Urban Design (MUD) Lab celebrates how our physical campus has grown and adapted over time.

Step through four distinct eras of the Oxford Road campus:

  • 1873-2002: The Emerging Campus
  • 2003-2020: A Merged Campus
  • 2021-2024: A Masterplanned Campus
  • 2025+: A Future Campus

Be sure to check out the exhibition’s centrepiece: a custom 3D model showing the current campus layout, designed and delivered by the MUD-Lab team.

Explore our rich architectural history and glimpse the future through this interactive journey and see how the University’s commitment to progress continues to shape the evolving campus environment for staff and students.

Come and uncover the fascinating stories behind the University’s most iconic spaces.
