Buckle up for an inspiring journey through two decades of creative activism.
For the past 20 years, In Place of War has been using creativity in places of conflict as a tool for positive change; transforming cultures of violence and suffering into hope, opportunity and freedom through the arts.
Join our inspiring panel to take a look back at its journey from an AHRC-funded research project at The University of Manchester to a global force for change and independent national charity, peacebuilding across conflict zones through cultural spaces and training.
The panel includes Ed O’Brien, guitarist with rock superstars Radiohead and In Place of War ambassador; the University’s own Professor James Thompson; Ruth Daniel, CEO of In Place of War; Tongai ‘Outspoken’ Makawa of the Magamba Network in Zimbabwe; Selam Mengistu, In Place of War’s Youth Advisory Board; Allan Sudlow of AHRC; and MABE, musician and member of GRRRL from Venezuela. This panel will be moderated by ITN Production, and member of In Place of War’s Music Advisory Board, Kim Rowell.
Take part in the discussion as we explore In Place of War’s incredible path.
