Hewan Clarke DJ: Hacienda Legend Brings the Groove

Legendary Manchester DJ Hewan Clarke brings his eclectic mix of soul, jazz and house music to hit the groove and get the party started at Universally Manchester Festival.

The first ever DJ to perform at Manchester’s iconic Hacienda nightclub in 1982 and resident DJ during its formative years, Clarke was also a major player in Black underground music in the pre-Rave era at hugely influential venues The Gallery, Berlin and The Playpen – as well as The Reno, the legendary, late night funk and soul 1970s cellar club in Moss Side.

He’s been DJing for over 40 years and beings his wealth of experience, exemplary taste and incredible record collection to get the celebrations in full swing…
